Seraphime Mike is our Assistant Conductor. Seraphime spent 37 years, his entire career, in the Roseville Community Schools (Michigan) teaching at all levels of instrumental music. He attended Wayne State University in Detroit and received his B.A. in Music Education and M.A. in Music Administration. He chaired the Macomb County Band Directors Association as well as served as Chairman of Solo/Ensemble and Band and Orchestra Festivals. He was inducted into the prestigious American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA) and a few years later was recognized as one of the ten best directors in the nation. In 1971, his Roseville Band was selected to represent the USA in the first International Band Festival in Vienna, Austria. In 1984 Seraphime was selected by his colleagues for Teacher of the Year (Michigan). He has adjudicated solo and ensemble festivals and band and orchestra festivals at the District and State levels. His major instrument is clarinet. He is married to Adela and has two sons--Henry is teaching English in China and Robert is an ER physician at Memorial Hospital in Tampa.
